About Essential Oils Pedia

Essential Oils Pedia is an independent educational reference created to help readers understand essential oils, their common uses, responsible-use precautions, and the limits of current evidence.

Our purpose

Essential-oil information is often either highly promotional or overly simplified. Our goal is to make it calmer, clearer, and more useful: botanical identity where it matters, practical context, safety guidance, and honest discussion of what research can and cannot show.

A resource being carefully renewed

This project builds on educational material originally developed for EverythingEssential.me. That earlier work provides useful historical context and topic ideas, but it is not republished automatically. Older material is reviewed, reorganized, fact-checked, and updated for EssentialOilsPedia.com before it is treated as current.

What you will find here

  • Profiles of individual essential oils, including botanical identity, aroma, constituents, common uses, and safety considerations.
  • Practical guides to common ways people use essential oils.
  • Responsible-use information about dilution, sensitization, photosensitivity, storage, and populations needing extra caution.
  • Health-topic articles that discuss essential oils as possible supportive options—not cures or substitutes for professional care.

Our approach

We distinguish traditional use, laboratory findings, early clinical evidence, and stronger human evidence instead of presenting them as equivalent. When evidence is limited, mixed, or indirect, we aim to say so plainly. We also correct substantive errors and update pages when better information becomes available.

Important health note

Essential Oils Pedia provides general education, not individualized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Essential oils can cause adverse effects and may not be appropriate for every person, route of use, or situation. Read our Medical Disclaimer and seek qualified professional guidance when needed.
